The Nazca lines are large ancient geoglyphs in the Nazca Desert, located in southern Peru. The largest figures are about 1,200 ft long and more than 70 are figures of animals. These figures can only be seen from above. Most people, me included, have to take a small plane to fly over the dessert in order to see the stylized images of these animals.
I always felt that these figures could be the basis for a great epic novel and this was what eventually led me to write and become an author.
If you have never heard of the Nazca lines you should look it up on the web and maybe take a trip to Nazca and see them yourself. They are truly awesome!
